hallo! it doesnt seem like anyones written here for a while, i hope somebody's still reading! also, sorry for writing in english, my german isnt that great yet. i live in new york city but in a few months ill be moving to germany and hopefully getting some work teaching english. anyways, ill be in berlin for the first month to get my celta certificate but after that im really hoping to move in or around munich. i love the alps and would love to be a short train ride away! a couple other options would be stuttgart or freiburg.

there are a few parts of new york that are mainly inhabited by art and music kids in their 20s...like where i live in williamsburg, brooklyn. its pretty much all kids my age riding bikes around, lots of parties and places to hang out, etc. it can be expensive in the nicer parts of williamsburg, but when you go to the east part of williamsburg it gets a lot cheaper since its farther away from the subway and its a little more ghetto. but tons of kids still live there because its still in the same area, but way cheaper, and they dont care about the quality of the buildings as much. thats how i am. im expecting the price of living to be similar near munich as it is here in nyc, but i would like to know if there are any certain areas in or around the city similar to where i live now? i would really like to be near some people with similar interests, and if there are any art communities or anything like that, that would be really cool. also, i am vegan straight edge, if that gives you more of an idea of the kind of stuff im into. can anyone point me in the direction of what areas i should keep in mind when looking for places to live? in munich, or anywhere else would be awesome! im really open and would love to hear your opinions. also, any other vegans out there? im still doing research on any good places to eat. id love to make some friends around the area who are down for having vegan potlucks once i get there! ok, vielen dank!!

I know of one vegan restaurant/deli called Saf im Zerwirk, but most vegetarian places have vegan options.
